Amy Boyd

Amy Boyd is the owner of Vivid School of Music, and most students will know her as the helpful person on the other side of the text message inbox.

But when she’s not working on website updates, schedule tetris, or vacuuming the school, Amy loves helping students find their inner rock stars! Amy studied vocal performance at the University of Texas at Austin, and spent the first half of her musical career singing with choral groups at UT and the Grammy-nominated Conspirare, under the direction of Craig Hella Johnson. Since then, she’s performed as a lead singer in bluegrass groups, rock bands, folk duos, wedding bands, a Pink Floyd tribute band, and more – and there’s nothing she’d rather do in life than sing. In 2024, she reconnected with her choral roots performing with Austin’s Panoramic Voices in Austin, and she arranges the vocal parts and sings backup with the Vivid School of Music rock bands.

A versatile and powerful vocalist in multiple genres, Amy works to divide lesson time into an equal mix of practicing important vocal techniques, and singing music that brings joy. Vocal lessons should be educational, but fun too! Amy has a real fondness for showtunes, and she’s a great asset for students auditioning or performing in local musicals.

Amy is a patient and kind vocal coach who works to bring out the inner performer in her vocal students, helping them to find an artistry that goes beyond just notes and rhythms.
